The Ministry of Finance has been working on amending the sugar tax regulation to expand its range. The planned changes would greatly increase the scope of the tax, which could include sugar-free juices, drinks with added juices, sugar-free drinks, as well as non-alcoholic beers.
Artificial and processed drinks are generally seen by consumers as more harmful to their health. This is set to result in a further increase in sales of natural products in the future, as consumers try to adopt healthier lifestyles and prevent long-term illness.
Consumers will be increasingly keen to have the right dietary habits, but will also be concerned about animal welfare, and the impact of meat-based diets on the environment. As such, lactose free, which is a dietary and free from type of health and wellness attribute, is anticipated to be boosted within soft drinks over the forecast period.
